Volunteer registration is through
the Math/Science Nucleus. The
Math/Science Nucleus is a non-profit (501(3)c), educational and
research organization, since 1982. The Tyson Lagoons Wetland Center
is located a short walking distance from the Fremont BART (Bay
Area Rapid Transit) station.

JUNE 11 & 12, 2005 (Saturday & Sunday)
Time: Sat, 10 am to 2 pm
Cut willow and strip the bark off the willow (to be used for binding
the frame and cross pieces).
Time: Sun, 10 am to 3 pm
Dig the holes for the main poles and construct the willow frame.
OPTIONAL WORK DAYS (in case the frame is not completed by Sunday)
/ June 15 and June 16 (10 am to 2 pm).

Sun, 10 am to 3 pm
Cut, bundle, and store the tule.
Ethnobotany on tule and tule craft: Sunday (2 pm to 3 pm)
OPTIONAL WORK DAYS (in case all the tule gathering is not completed
by Sunday) / June 20 and June 21 (10 am to 2 pm).

"OPEN HOUSE" event
Time: 10 am to 2 pm
The Tule Ponds will be open to the public to walk around to see
the many changes that are occurring on the site. The addition
of a Tule House for school programs on Ohlone culture began in
June. Increased habitat is making the Tule Ponds an urban wildlife
sanctuary in the middle of Fremont.
