"Outside Educators coordinated with the Math/Science Nucleus to build an Ohlone-style tule house at the Tule Ponds, Tyson Lagoon Wetland Center in Fremont. High school students, who needed community service hours, and volunteers helped with the gathering of the materials and the construction of the tule house."
The day before the work project, we rehydrated the dried tules that were gathered two weeks ago. On July 23rd, a second layer of tule thatching was added to the tule house. More tule was also gathered on Saturday.
