Susan Labiste
Developed and presented natural and cultural
history programs to school children while working as a Ranger/Naturalist
with
Livermore
Area Recreation and Parks District.
Led children in stream study, California
Native American and settler programs while working as an Interpretive
Aide with East Bay Regional Park District.
Developed and conducted workshops at the Oakland Museum in Oakland, the
Maidu Interpretive Center in Roseville, the Miwok
Archeological Preserve of Marin at Point Reyes National Seashore,
the United Auburn Indian Community in Auburn, the Rattlesnake Rendezvous at Sunol-Ohlone Regional Wilderness,
Winter Count in Arizona and the Rabbitstick Rendezvous in Idaho.
Demonstrated flintknapping on Ohlone Day
at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.
Develops and conducts classes at the Math/Science
Nucleus in Fremont.
Creates reproductions of twined willow fish
trap, sedge and redbud coiled basket, burden basket, rabbit skin
blanket, tule mat, bark apron, stone mortar and pestle, brain-tanned
buckskin skirt, tumpline, bead and shell necklaces, digging stick,
acorn mush paddle, toys and obsidian arrow points.
Holds a BA in Biology from Cal State East
Bay in Hayward.
Holds a current Registered Nursing License
from the state of California.
Dino Labiste

Unified School District as the Program Naturalist for the City of Pleasanton.

Cowell Redwoods State Park, The Gathering of Ohlone Peoples event
at Coyote Hills Regional Park, the Native California Fall Gathering
event at San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area, the Rattlesnake
Rendezvous at Sunol-Ohlone Regional Wilderness, the Coyote Hills
Knap-In at Coyote Hills Regional Park, Winter Count in Arizona
and the Rabbitstick Rendezvous in Idaho.
